MEET THE TEAM
At the heart of our firm are great people!
Stuart Anderson, Managing Principal
One of the original members of the firm since 1986, Stuart brings over 25 years of accounting, tax and financial management experience to Roetsch & Company. As Managing Principal he directs all aspects of practice management, and with his background in Business Administration, he is responsible for the structure, successful growth and profitability of the firm. If there is one member of our team with the outward image of a "typical accountant", then it's Stuart. Yet behind his deceptive appearance lies a perceptive thinker and solver of client problems, who among his many roles is the architect of the firm's paperless environment and accounting software system that streamlines year-end file preparation. With his relaxed and quiet demeanor, he is much in demand to fulfill temporary on-site Controller or CFO roles for our clients. Stuart has many years of specialized tax training, and is the firm's resident expert in HST. His other areas of practice include advisory services, personal and corporate taxation, taxation of farming, government statutory audits and negotiations, auditing and review engagements, business start up, temporary controllership and business advisory services. Away from the office, Stuart and his wife Jane enjoy curling, golf and watching hockey and basketball. Since being a two-time curling provincial school finalist, Stuart continues to enjoy the roaring game. He shares his two favorite sports, curling and baseball with his three children and also volunteers as a convener, umpire and coach - enjoying the reward of assisting and seeing young children develop their skills and personalities. Roy Fabbiani, Principal
Each Roetsch & Company individual brings a different personality and background to the firm. Well-known for his easy going and facilitating nature, Roy's areas of specialty expertise include taxation, government statutory audits and negotiations, litigation support, business valuations and damages quantification. He has a B.Com, is a CA, and in addition to his qualification from the Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (CBV), he is recognized by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) as a valuations specialist (CA.CBV). Well-versed in all areas of general public practice, Roy has over 25 years experience in accounting, tax, and business valuation, including working for CRA in corporate audit, as CFO of a high-tech corporation to position it to go public, and working on the finances of many small-to-medium size companies. He has completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course and lectured on advanced accounting and tax at the postgraduate level. Roy is a family oriented individual who likes fast red sports cars, soccer, hockey, curling (they say he's a "natural") and home improvement. He and his wife Sarah enjoy travel and family gatherings. Donna McLean, BA, CA
Donna looks after the day-to-day management of the firm's professional assignments and manages workflow. She brings over 20 years of business and accounting experience and serves as the firm's year-end preparation manager. Donna, her husband, also a CA, and young daughter love to travel and usually end up on a warm Prince Edward Island every summer. Donna also enjoys volunteering at her daughter's school. Armen Rego, Business Admin-Accounting, CFP (Certified Financial Planner)
Every group needs one individual to keep the tone light and tinged with humour - and it's Armen…. but although he's very funny, he's also very serious when it comes to business. Don's areas of practice include new business start-up issues, registrations and all statutory requirements, review engagement preparation and file reviews, audit preparation, and personal and corporate tax preparation.
